Hello! I redid all my breeding pens this summer so all my birds where in together and I hatched quite a bit of barnyard mixes. Well I got a silkie Roos that has the most beautiful color and I think I want to start a project pen for this. I’m not sure how I got the color. But I wondering if anyone has suggestions where I should start with this and what hens I should use him on.

Looks like a splash, but I’m horrible at these things.

Looks like a Blue, Gold, Split for silver Partridge pattern.

He looks stunning. One of a kind

He could still be pure for Silkie, but doesn't carry the Silkie feather Genes. (Satin)
No, it doesn't work that way.
If he does not have Silkie feathers, he is not a Silkie.
The silkie feathers are caused by a recessive gene, so crossing two pure Silkies should NEVER produce a bird with normal feathers.

To get a Satin (normal feathers), someone needs to cross in a normal-feathered bird, at which point the offspring are not PURE Silkies anymore.

He maybe a silkie mix too.
I think he must be.
