Silkie color genetics

Pics
From my experience and what I have been told white Silkies will throw black babies.. I'm not sure how you get the white ones so I'm experimenting with different colors..
Two whites should always throw white. White and anything else can result in ANYTHING; it depends on the colours the white is hiding and the colours of the bird it is bred with: every white can be different.

recently i hayched out 13 adorable healthy silkies from my white silkies and come to find out somewhere along the line i ended up with 2 splash chicks.. i was wondering how that happpened and if i breed a white and a splash what will happen. thanks yall
Did either of the parents come from paint breedings? If so, you have at least one dominant white.

Can you tell me what color I cold expect in this situation? I have one silkie egg that is viable in this hatch... Father is a gorgeous splash roo, mother is either black or white... What color options can I expect to depict who mom was? My blue is getting close to POL, and lue with Plath will give me half splash and half blue, correct?

No way to predict what colour offspring the white will give, save that it will have at least one copy of blue. Splash to black will give you blue.

Yes, Splash X blue gives 50% of each

Hi! I am new on this site and only have had silkies for few months now..and absolutely love them. We live in Finland, Northern Europe and the silkie polulation is quite small here. I would like to ask you about the colors of these silkies in the pictures above, the "grey hen " is there twice..but is she grey..? Thank you for your answers :)

Can someone tell me what a male silkie translucent and a male silkie hypo means?
Hmmmm, do you have the full quote?

Het. means one copy of a gene (unlike alleles). Hom. means two copies of the gene (identical alleles). Hemizygous means only one copy is available because there is ony a place for one copy (in birds this is the female).

Hypostatic means a gene whose expression is modified or suppressed by a different gene. For example, if a chicken has the genotype to be blue (Bl/bl+), but two copies of recessive white (c/c) are present, blue is hypopistatic to recessive white, and does not display. Conversely, recessive white is epistatic to the blue.

No idea about the trasnlucent...
