I got a beautiful little silkie out of the bantam assortment? (Her extra toe is so cute) anyway she is a smoky blu and her feathers are coming in smoky? I thought silkies were white? All the photos I have seen are white. Is she not a silkie? And how do you tell whether she's a roo or hen? And when she's hard to age being my first banty but she has wing feathers and neck feathers.

I searched right after I posted I think she's a lavender or a blue. None of the pics look just like her.

Splash is well splashed coloring right? She's solid. And I think she's to rich for grey. But I am having a hard time finding pics of babies. Mostly older or show or breeding stock. Tomorrow I'll get pics of all three. I can't seem to find picks like them at all.

The chick sounds like a blue. Post pics and you can know for sure. Silkies typically cannot be sexed until several months of age. There are seven recognized colors in silkies including blue, black, splash, buff, partridge, white and grey. There are also many unrecognized as well as mixed varieties that they can be found in.
