So I'm looking into breeding silkies, not for show just as a hobby. My hens are correct in comb and comb color with their black walnut combs. But the rooster I have planned to pick up to start my breeding is correct in comb shape but his comb is red. So I'm wondering based on your knowledge and experiences what will this result in the offspring will they favor the black comb or the red.

He is a cross breed. Red is not a trait of the silkie breed and must have been introduced from another breed of chicken. I wouldn't get him if I were you

He looks really nice to me, it's just that comb is so red.

Thanks for the input, I've found another silkie with the correct comb that I will be looking into. I know I shouldn't jump into the first one that comes available if it's not correct. It's just hard to find silkies in my area

He looks like a Sultan cross Silkie. He has Vulture hocks as well which are barely ever found in Silkies
The male on the picture is not a Sultan x Silkie cross, he is just a "Pet" quality Silkie, as strange as it may sound Fibromelanotic will not always yield completely black face/comb, other inhibitors/enhancers are at play

Agreed. Not xbred.
But I wouldn't use him for breeding. Silkies have less of an upright stance, larger crests and their tails are much more like puffballs
