They are so cute. I have an updated picture of my SilkEE, good name for them by the way.




Her name is Twiggs and she is the softest thing I have ever touched and can fly high and far, better than any chicken we have.

She is the size of my other silkie hen.

3 days ago she laid her first egg and it looked like a silkie egg.

Twiggs is gorgeous. And so regal-looking with her soft 'crown'. I wonder if that's how my Yogurt will look when she's grown. I may have to take that note of Twiggs flying as a warning. Already Yogurt is prone to flying as a chick (6wk) & does so VERY well.

Hard to judge from just one photo. But I'd guess roo. Upright stance & already reddening comb/wattles seems very rooish.

So I hatched out some chicks that i was thinking would be GL polish (roo) and black silkie(hen) crosses. Well these chicks look completely like black silkies. Does that normally happen? Will they change as they age? they are only one day old. I will post there pics tomorrow.

They'll probably end up with some leakage. How does their leg feathering look? That's where I'd expect them to be lacking a little.
