Silkie drowned in pond

A sad post. My Golden Partridge Silkie managed to drown quietly (and hopefully quickly) in the pond that I just put into the garden a month ago. Just to warn others; perhaps this breed is particularly susceptible.
 
I'm so sorry, but thank you veey much for posting. Every summer we get people asking about letting their chickens swim, and even see pictures of chickens floating around in backyard pools. The truth is that any chicken will drown, eventually, when their feathers get waterlogged.

I've never owned a Silke, but I imagine their "fluff" absorbs water a lot more quickly than a standard breed.
