Silkie Egger - cockerel or pullet?

Definitely. I suspected a cockerel so he got named like my other 4 - after something automotive. Ragtop after a convertible. He'll later either join the main pen with Edelbrock (Brock) and Carter or with his dad (whichever of the 2 Silkie's is papa) in their pen. They're named Chevy and Ford. And yes, I had a Dodge but a hawk killed him 5 months ago.
Love the motorhead theme!!!
My first top end rebuild (88 Chevy step) was with an Edelbrock intake.

Well I can say 100% certainty that my baby is a cockerel. I was cleaning out their brooder and sure enough, there it was shining in the light, the unmistakable color of red mixed among his black/white/gray feathers.

Well, so far that makes 2 young roosters. I have another Silkie Egger cockerel that's about 2 1/2 months old. My last experience with an Egger rooster didn't end well for him.

I've had other roosters in the past named Chevelle, Duece, Dodge, Slick (racing slicks) and Phantom. I started naming the roosters after automotive related things with Duece. My 2 standard roosters, Brock and Carter were named by my boyfriend after I told him I needed 2 rooster names. My uncles and some cousins were mechanics and my boyfriend was a mechanic for over 50 years and long haul truck driver for over 40 years - retired now, but dables at home. I've always loved being around vehicles since a young child and still do. We're restoring a 1951 Ford F5 that has a 1954? blue flame (someone else put it in) and trying to get my one late son's favorite truck back on the road (engine, clutch, and interior). My son liked Chevy's, but drove Ford trucks all the time. My boyfriend was nothing but Chevy's until family gave him their Dodge vehicles and now we acquired the old Ford truck.
