Sara, my newer silkies started laying at 22 weeks for the first.....the second was about a week later and the 3rd about a week later. Here is a pic of the comb/waddles.....best i could get today as they move alot. But none of my blues have anything more than this. It looks like i may have to just accept that i wont know til they let me know

I just took them all some warm oatmeal and watched them all eating. It looks like 2 of my splash are even starting to outgrow the 3rd splash. So i might be VERY lucky and have one splash girl. If the 2 boys are good together and not too loud....maybe they can stay. Sara....what kind of marans do you have? I want a couple cuckoo maran eggs for spring. Is that what you have?

Update: Today when my back was turned......someone tried to crow!!!! It was a very pathetic attempt.......but cute. So if one of the splash silkies is a boy.....I'm quite sure they all are

How strange that there are no comb or waddles at 4 1/2 months

So if anyone in driving distance is interested in adopting a sweet splash silkie roo.....PM me about it.

Oh, no! i'm so sorry, Lurky! i swear they all look like girls to me. My boys got huge combs and big wattles. You will have to take a picture of the culprit once you figure out who is crowing. i could use the education.

And, they all sound so cute and a little pathetic when they first start crowing, and then, watch out! My Sta-Puff could be heard all over the neighborhood. Thank goodness he is living on a 160 acre farm now.
