10ish weeks update! This guy is getting some gorgeous iridescent feathers in his tail. Not crowing yet but is definitely at the top of the pecking order. Funny thing is the sebright in the background has been crowing since he turned 6 weeks old, and I thought this guy would join in but nope.

the painted white one; a bit pink on the comb, especially after it’s been running around, the tiniest hint of wattles that you can only see if it turns it’s head just right, and it’s got some interesting off white coloured feathers coming in. I thought it was just dirty but when I part the feathers on its neck, the new feathers that are coming in are almost a buff color.

Updated pics of the painted one - the partridge has gone to his new home. I think we’re at about 15 weeks here? Not a ton of color compared to the other 2 obvious cockerels in this pen, a bit of color coming into the small wattles and on the flesh colored part of its comb. Not much comb development, no crowing. It’s quite timid but so is the EE cockerel so... haha

Couple closer pics I got later. No crowing, chats a lot with chirps and funny low sounds but nothing even close to a crow. I’m still stumped on this one lol.

Sooo this painted thing is starting to make really weird noises... almost egg song like, not crowing, (dare I hope?) and it squatted today when I went to pet it... it is a little bit of a submissive bird but this is the first time it’s done that. So I’m reallllly hoping it’s a pullet! It’s 19 weeks and a couple days at this point. And it has the most horrid looking, lopsided wattles ever - the left one is relatively normal but the right is all twisted and curled up against the chin. xD it still has new feathers coming in on its crest but no streamers that I can see.

It’s a pullet! First egg laid at 20 weeks!
