Our silkie who recently hatched 8 chicks 2 weeks ago was floppy and gasping with open mouth when I went to check her this morning. She had a slight drop of blood on her beak. Next then she started jerking around the hen house and died all of a sudden. She was such a good mother and it was very sudden. Any clues on what it was and will I need to check the chicks?
