silkie gender, extreme size difference.

My cousin got 16 eggs off ebay for 50 dollars and only two hatched. but one is growing so much faster then the other, is this normal, does it make the larger one a male?
PS, if any of you have any fertile silkie eggs and are willing to sell or give them away we'd love to try and incubate some more, it was silly to have spent 50 bucks on 2 chickens.

One of them is blue the little one is black. we had all different eggs, so upset they didn't hatch

If those are the same age, than I would say you have a case of failure to thrive and thus have spent $50 on one silkie chick. I would recommend checking Craig's list, local facebook pages, or even shows to find some that are close to you so you don't have to worry about shipping.

It's were the chick doesn't grow right/ well and is sickly and all, most don't live long.
