I bought two silkies today at a poultry trade day event and I wanna know what yall think! First is a 3ish month old chocolate mottled silkie.

Next is a 7-8 week old partridge. I know he/she may be too young tho!

Both have flat walnut combs. I can get a picture tomorrow if that’d be helpful. I’ll be excited either way if the chocolate is hen or roo but hoping the partridge is a hen!

I would say 2 females but honestly I don't know for sure. If they were roos, even at this age the boys would be developing bigger combs, my Wyandotte rooster had a noticeably bigger comb at just a few weeks. They're both adorable though :)

Silkies take a long time to tell. If they both have flat combs at this stage, I'm guessing they are both females. But it is early in the game.

If you really want to know soon, send in feather samples to a lab. It costs a bit, but you'll get accurate results pretty quickly.
I’m considering it! Thank you
