Thanks! It just looks so much different so I was hoping it was more of a “splash” silkie than paint.I'd say the one you're calling splash looks white based so I'd say it's a paint. If it was light grey/blue then I'd say splash.
Good luck on gender though! Silkies are boogers to find out!
She’s beautiful! I HATE the silkie waiting game. It’s just awful! Lol. I have 11 more younger silkies I’ll be anxious to sex too. Ugh!also for me anyways, the ones I have that turned out to be pullets/hens were pretty flat/very small bumped for their comb area and the ones that were already more puffed up there have been my cockerels/roosters. But like I said they're tricky! I've even had one from day 1-5 months that was so flat I thought for sure pullet, then one day its comb puffed up and it looked more rooster then hen...but it's for sure a hen! Lots of eggs and the stinkin turd is broody! (I have 5 nasty broodies right now!) here's a picture of my hen that looks more roo like. She is hatchery quality so her fluff is terrible, I just keep her around because she's my midget emuView attachment 1489352

I don't trust a gender ID until I either watch the silly thing crow, or the little bugger drops an egg in my hand!
Can somebody please explain to me the difference between splash and paint? Every time I think I have it figured out, I get more confused!
