Silkie genders?

I think I get it. My Herman (below, a pet-quality, hatchery Silkie roo,) is blue/grey with darker splotches all over. What looks like white in this pic is actually a soft silver-blue. Does that mean that he's a paint or a badly colored blue? Or is his color a misfit mess, just like our silly Herman-bird?

No I'd call him a splash :)
He's adorable! And Herman very much fits him! <3

Thanks, Herman's nowhere near SOP, but he's perfect to us! Whenever I'm asked, I call him a "blue-splash, heavy on the splash." It's the closest I can get to a good description. Herman's not a "pretty Silkie," but he's a very pretty boy. What's more, he's about the sweetest thing on two feathered feet. He's even a bit of a celebrity. He has his own article on BYC, "Is There A Rooster In The House?"

Haha famous Herman! :)
He's pretty to me and he's special to you so that is perfect;)
I agree a sweet good roo goes along way for me! Just recently had one turned into soup because he was absolutely nasty and he almost killed my best hen!

Herman is a good old boy. But that huge comb is big enough to plant a flag on it and claim it in the name of "The United States."
