Hi all! I posted in diseases too, but thought I should also post to my Silkie people! I have a 3 month old Silkie cockerel who appears to have a deformity on the bottom of his foot. The bigger he gets the more pronounced his limp gets. He also stands crooked from time to time because of the way he holds his foot. When I got him 2 months ago he would limp on a rare occasion, but the breeder told me he was accidentally dropped. After a week of having him I noticed his one toe at almost a 90 degree angle. I thought maybe he dislocated/ broke his toe so I splinted it. Not knowing how old the injury was I still splinted for 2 weeks, but there was no change. One day he was limping badly so I looked him over again and noticed this deformity on the bottom of his foot. I'm no Silkie expert, but in the 10 years I've had them I've never seen this. I want to help him but don't know how. He acts like a normal baby otherwise and tries to run with the flock. Please if anyone has seen this and can provide some advice I would be so grateful! Thank you
Amy
Ps. I have a video too but it won't let me post it
