Hi. I set 16 silkie eggs on the 8th. I didn't start a hatch a long though. I have also not candled them yet. This was a set of shipped eggs from a breeder. Really excited for this hatch! I have put my own silkie eggs in the incubator, from my year old flock, as I collect them, and tomorrow is the first hatch date for two of them. My first hatch ever. This is such a thrill!

hello, did 7 day weigh/candle last night, all 19 of my viable still seem to be doing good. weights were all not too shabby either, some right on, a few a little over, few a little under... hoping all goes well. they are 28 shipped eggs, 9 from Missouri, 19 from Florida. 4/9 viable from Missouri, and 15/19 viable from Florida, I am very impressed! come on day 21.......

Hi, I rotate 3 batches of eggs in the incubator, so I have 6 silkie eggs that just went into the hatching area - due to hatch on Tuesday the 18th - all 5 appear to be in good shape right now, 1 I'm not sure about. Then I have 4 that are looking good to hatch on the 24th, and 11 that are in the back row. Since they are from the week of below zero temps, I'm not sure how many, if any, will hatch. I usually add eggs every Monday - so much fun!

Edited to add: I try to keep my humidity about 40% most of the time. When they start to pip I raise it to 50%-55% just for a day or two, then drop it back down to about 30% for a few days after I move the chicks to the brooder. It would be easier if I had a separate hatching incubator, but the budget doesn't justify it yet.

HI, I keep my humidity around 45 to 50. I had good luck with my humidity last time, but only had one egg make it to lockdown. this time around with 19 eggs I have some right on target weight, a few a little over a few a little under. Will see again how weights are doing saturday and adjust if necessary.
