Hello everyone I am having serious problems with my silkies, when they hatch some look fine and then there are some that have feet problems such as toes are curled, I have never had this problem before and some just seem to die in a couple days.I had a problem for a week with a wafer thermostat temp up and down could this be my problem or could it be genetic problems some were ??? When they hatch they lay around and sleep then within a few days they die.

It sounds like a genetic problem. Have you hatched from these birds before, or do you mean that you have had successful hatches with other birds? If you had good hatches with your current breeding stock you might look at nutrition as a potential source of problem or consider that there is some kind of bacteria living in your incubator that is causing development problems.

I am believing it is genetics I am hatching bantys and ducks and no problem but the silkies about 1/2 are goofed up what do I need to do ?? I keep different breeds apart to keep from cross-breading and possible from imbreading could I possible mixed a silke hen and a silkie roo that could of came from the same hatch ??? It makes me think I have goofed on the silkies when the rest are running around and playing. Thanks for help any one has.

You can breed chickens that are related to each other and it doesn't matter.
I don't no what is causing your problems with them dying but it isn't that.
Sorry I can't be more help other than that.
