So my Silky hen Sky hasn't been well for months now. I have her separate from the flock in a bird aviary.
I had hoped she was getting better but now it doesn't seem to be that way.
I noticed today that she is salivating when she drinks her water and I've no idea why?
Also she scratches at her water dish and keeps knocking it over?
I do not know if she has respiratory distress but i occasionally see her breathing through her beak instead of her nostrils and sometimes makes weird gurgling, almost purring noises.

Anyone have any ides? Any help will be much appreciated. I am sick of having sick hens, i just want them to stay healthy...

Thanks again,

She might have a cold check her nostrils and if they are all blocked up I would go and get a stick or something and peel of the snot that is stuck on her nostrils, it sometimes is quite hard to remove it.

If this is the case then you will have to do it daily, or when ever her nose get blocked up

I had the same problem with 2 of mine one I was able to rescue but the other had to be buried

I really hope this works Best of luck
