Silkie hen or roo? Confusing head poof

Looking for some opinions on this silkie. I was told he was a rooster but he has me second guessing that. He hasnt crowed just makes little clucking sounds. His Crest is really confusing me and the feathers on the back of his head and neck all fluff forward. Would you say this is a rooster?

I didn't even think of frizzle. I was told pure silkie so I just thought he had some weird feathering going on. He is a spoiled little bugger though, has no interest in being outside.

Well something is coming into play cause his comb is very red and a well bred put silkie has a mulberry comb. He is still very handsome none the less and would be cool for a frizzle breeding program if you take that route.

I dont know I picked him up about 3 weeks ago and it was red then
