If a hen is born with a deformed foot, can she pass that on to her offspring or will it be a suppressed abnormality? I guess my question is is it possible for her to pass it on to her offspring and if so what are the percentages that the chicks will carry it?

Well I don't know if it can pass down to her offspring or not but if you want to fix them cut little piece of plastic or cardboard big enough for there feet to set on and once u straighten out there toes and use vet rap o something to hold there feet into place and let it on there for about 1-2 days

Thank you for the information. The hen isn't mine, someone wants to trade me her and I'm a sucker for animals that need help but since I'm breeding my silkies I don't want to introduce any birds with abnormalities. I'm not sure exactly what's wrong with her foot, only its deformed,I was supposed to see the hen today to see the extent of it.

How is it abnormal?? Extra toes?? Or what? Silkies are supposed to have extra toes.

Never mind not a club foot. She seems to be missing toes and the toes she has are nubs.
