ha, I was totally thinking of trying quail soemtime too, but had the same idea of where am I going to put these guys? perhaps next year... I gotta try and pace myself... I want geese too, really want some sebastopols.... but thinking I should wait until next year as I have a lot on my plate this year.

I love geese. I have dick and jane. African geese a friend gave to me, she no longer wanted them.

We usually just sell them when they hatch but this hatch we are going to keep them to fill our freezer.

So 2 of my own silkie eggs hatched. A black or blue silkie and a white naked neck. Not sure if it'll be silky feathered or not yet. Has 5 toes and awesome feathered feet. But has white skin. Even so its a start towards my showgirls. Will put other silkie eggs and 6 salmon favorelles in lockdown tonight. Just got new bigger brooder so will be switching everyone around tonight and tomorrow. Will get pictures then.

@jorey I know!!! I can't believe it!! This hatch has really gone by fast. I have quail hatching right now and the silkies in cartons ready to hatch. Looks like I have 8 vital. How many of yours made it to lock down?
