Silkie Identifying

Okay This is peas he is a silkie right? He doesn't have that poof ball on its head...does that mean something? Are there different kinds? I'm a new silkie owner. I have had full grown already but have never raised them from little. (This is my first baby silkie) Let me know I could use all of you chicken experts!

Oh I also should add that this chick is from a strait run, thats why I'm asking because they didn't tell me.
