My silkie recently had a beak/eye injury which I treated with vetericyn and Blue kote, it seems to be healing nicely. She has been a bit distant from the flock since but has been eating and drinking. The last 2 days she has been yawning non stop, last night she slept in the nesting box. Any ideas what’s going on with her and how I can help her? Thanks so much ❤️ I tried to upload a video but it says he format is not compatible... .mov

Does she show any other irregular behavior? Very legarthic behavior?
By non stop you mean it literally, right... So she’s not just super tired? There is a possibility that she is tired of the injury... never heard of this problem... there’s folks out there who know more than me though, hope they can help.
Yes she has been lethargic, the yawning doesn’t stop at all. While observing here this morning I noticed she was shaking her head a little and almost licking her beak. It’s breaking my heart, I’m going to try to find a vet that treats chickens around here.

I would take her to a vet if possible.
I had a hen yawn a bit like that and I got told she probably had worms. I treated them all with flubenvet and he was fine after a couple of days.
I would still take her to a vet.

The BYC video upload does not work. You will need to upload videos to youtube or similar platform, then provide us the link.

Seeking vet care is always best.

Have you looked inside her beak for any obstructions, yellow plaques or canker?
Is her crop empty, full, hard, soft, squishy, doughy or does she have sour breath?

Do you notice any wheezing with the yawning or cough? Any discharge from the nostrils or eyes?

What was the beak/eye injury like - was she pecked?
