Silkie Large Fowl

Check the hatchery that TSC uses. A couple of years back. My neighbor bought a couple of silkie chicks for his grandkids, from TSC. They told him they were full sized silkies. He asked me if I knew much about them. At the time I had only heard of silkie bantams being available in the U.S. Through my internet searches. There is a growing demand for silkie meat in the U.S. So these were bred for the niche market that is developing. His grew to be the size of leghorns. With partial straight combs. Along with clean, slate blue legs and five toes. They did have a few regular, primary wing feathers. If they are still available. They may be a good starting point.

Pictures of the bird please? LF Silkies are my favorite, & are practically the only one's I'd raise.
Yes, let me just take a pic. It’s still dark outside but I’ll do my best to get a shot. I breed the really cute bearded ones like this one I’m going to attach. It’s just worrying me now that it could be a roo. Lol. I don’t know if it’s just a hatchery kind as well. I drove very far and when I got to her place, she has so many but all are just different from what was posted. They’re bigger and I didn’t want to insult her or say anything. I really don’t want to breed non bearded or non fluffy kind. I’ll be posting pic of it. Here’s what I breed or what I’m used to seeing at the moment.

All Silkies are fluffy, show quality, or not.

Here's one of my Largefowl Silkie hens.

TSC Silkies are LF Silkies primarily. But there's some bantam mixing.

TSC, LF Silkie Left, & Bantam right.

So here’s the pic I took this morning. I think it’s a she, so that’s good. Just the legs are not as covered with fluff as I’m so used to. And they’re larger than my roo. The person I got her from told me cause they free range, but honestly I kind of doubt that. They were all in a cage. But here are the pictures attached. Very gentle and sweet though.
