Does anyone know if there is anything I can do for my poor baby. It's like he has lost total control of his muscles. I have had another one do this before. I saved her but don't know if it was luck or what.

Please tell me anything to try.

first thought is get him on polyvisol baby vitamins, a couple drops morning and nite for 5 days, it could be a couple things- anemia, which silkies are prone to or neurological, on my byc page, click on the second page, i have links to some info on head injuries- any other symptoms?

Is he flipping over, tucking his head under etc? If so, he was pecked in the head. Separate him, make him a wet mash of food(wet chick feed) and water--be careful he what kind of waterer you use--when they flip over. they can drown if the waterer lip is too big. You can give him 1/4 dropperful of Polyvisol drops(walmart in the infant section) 2x a day. It can take anywhere from 1-6 weeks to recover, all depending on the injury. I have dealt with this many times with silkies. The good news is I've never lost one to this!

Good luck!!!

Thanks So much....I will try to keep you all updated.
I got a free bird from a lady and she was pecking him yesterday. Maybe she pecked him when i got her from the lady. But she was in another pen for 2 weeks before he even started acting funny.

What are his/her symptoms? What part of the body seems to be losing control?
