I have one Silkie named Dave and I ADORE him!! He is so sweet and calm. He is kind of the outcast of the group and I want to get him some hens! Any suggestion on how to identify a good silkie hen, who is laying and is healthy? What is a good checklist for me to look at when trying to find a good silkie hen for my flock?

If you are interested in getting your guy some friends. I would look on Craigslist. Look for healthy looking birds. I would look for someone that seems to know about their birds. Text them, and ask them some questions, and see how much they know, about the bird, and so forth. If there aren't good pictures, ask for some more, and make sure that the sex is right. I'm no expert, but that's what I would do.
