OK...out of 6 cockerels, this is the one I chose to keep. My only critique is that I would like to see his wing carriage a bit higher. Seems like some days I look at it and it seems perfect...then other times it's a bit droopy. He definitely doesn't have split wings. Feet are perfect. He was hatched last June so he is just now 9 months old. He is crowing...if you can call it that. It sound a bit like a bad violin solo. He's dancing and very protective of the girls in the grow out pen with him but also loves to be held...so I like his personality so far. I think he is starting to try to get the breeding idea, but the girls in the grow out pen with him are just starting to squat and aren't laying yet. They were all hatched at the same time. So, give it to me...I can take it!!

Here is a short video of him with his girls.Actually, it's more the girls than him...he's only in the beginning. Please ignore the background noise...there was a LF hen next door singing the egg song...VERY LOUDLY!! LIKE SHE WAS SHOUTING IT!! I guess I didn't get a still of him from the front. BTW...I had to lighten the photos considerably because he is so very black that you couldn't see any details.

Oh yeah...I meant to mention that. NO...it's the lighting. I wouldn't have kept him with the silver in his hackles. In fact, I recently sold a hatch mate that really a gorgeous bird...even better than this cockerel...but he had silver hackles.

I think he is a good breeder bird because he is taller so he will be more succesful when mating, I think his crest should be a little bigger but the comb looks like a nice size, may I see a pic of his feet?

He is 9 months old today. I agree that he could use a slightly bigger crest. There are quite a few pin feathers in it as well as in his hackles.

I don't have anything for sale right now but will be hatching soon and will have some chicks for sale.
