Silkie mix thread :D

originally thought Maran roo and silkie showgirl but I was sent a message with a pic of that mix and nothing like that mix at all..now I believe they may be Barred rock hen and silkie roo they are one or the other so ??

These three chicks are all from a White Silkie hen and Splash Bantam Wyandotte rooster:

This chick will be 9 weeks old on July 11th.

This one will be nine weeks old on July 13th. (and is convincing me it is male)

The third is eight weeks old today (July 9th).

I do agree on the male he def looks like one I see it in the eyes..call me weird but thats how I new my Maran roo was a male ..they have a mean look to them

OK SO HERE IT IS BOTTOM RT ARE THE TWO BABIES BOTTOM LEFT ARE WHAT I BELIEVE IS THE DAD GAVIN AND NOT THE MOM SWEETIE PIE I BELIEVE THE TOP LEFT SILKIE GIRL IS THE MOM AND GAVIN IS THE DAD... THE MARAN ROO... LOOK AT THE WINGS THEY LOOK JUST LIKE DADS WHEN HE WAS YOUNG ..NOW SWEETIE PIE MY BARRED ROCK HEN BOTTOM LEFT AS A BABY AND TOP LEFT AS AN ADULT HEN MIXED WITH TOP LEFT SILKIE ROO IS ALSO POSSIBLE BUT I DONT BELIEVE THE MARKING ARE TELLING ME THAT ..i THINK I HAVE A MARAN SILKIE MIX ... ???????????

My silkie/easter egger mix is 26 weeks and not an egg from her yet. I noticed over the last few days she's been making little nests in the coop and run where she sits most of the day. She still gets up from time to time, but while the others are running around, she's in her mini nest. Is there a chance this is a sign she's getting ready to lay (she recently stopped checking out the nest boxes) or is she trying to go broody without eggs? It's just very strange.

Give her some time. She may just be trying to "figure things out".

Miss Greycie Blue has finally laid her first egg (and on my birthday no less). It's the most perfect little green egg. I'll upload a picture when I get on my computer.
