I've read up some and was expecting our 1st egg to be either white(from Polish) or cream/pink (from Silkies). Well, our 1st tiny egg is green...not what I was expecting.

Anyone else hv any info on their's laying colored eggs?
We hv male&female polish crest and 4 silkies(blue, white, black, sable)

Post pictures of the birds. You have neither Silkies nor Polish.

Well some Silkies have been bred to lay green eggs. Possibly you have one of these?
Technically not a purebred as Silkies don’t lay green eggs but the blue or green egg genetics may have been introduced at some point in their background.
Now that makes sense. Maybe that's what happened. I ordered the last group(4 silkies and 2 polish)from hatchery and received them aug-sept. I hv (10 total)3 yr old hens that lay all diff colors. None this color though and definitely not this small. Maybe one of the silkies I hv has mixed breeding somewhere along the line. I'll post pics of them in morn...been out fishing otherwise I'd hv done recent pics already. Priorities lol
