Silkie or satin?

At what age can you tell a Silkie is a regular fluffy feathered or a satin ?

Oh ok thanks . The roo is a regular Silkie n the hen is a satin . That why I ask .

As soon as their flight feathers start to come in you can tell if they are barbed (regular feathers) or not (silkied feathers)

Depends on how far back the silkied feathers go in your satin, too. Depending on how many generations it is, may have had the silkied feathers bred out. In that case, all the chicks will be smooth (satin) but carry the gene for the silkied feathers from the father (recessive).

I never seen a paint satin before . Interesting . My roo is a paint Silkie but with the regular fluff feathers .

Paint have one copy of dominant white and one copy of black, so many of the chicks will have this appearance.
What color is the mama?
