So this week my gold-laced orpington hen just hatched 1 adorable chick (whose name is Perkins). I have one orpington and my other chickens are all silkie roosters so the chick is a silkie mix. I don't know who Perkins' father is. Not only that but my hen, Ford, was sitting on a clutch of three eggs (this was her first time hatching) and only one of the eggs hatched, 5 days after Perkins hatched, I checked the eggs and there were only veins which had been scrambled up with the yolk. Why might this be? Other than that, Ford is a great mother and has been taking great care of Perkins. The first picture is of Perkins and the second picture includes on of the three possible fathers.
