Silkie pair

I’ve had to move my 12 week old silkies inside. I think I have a male and a female, just from behaviors. I have two outside coops. The grown hens pick on the female silkie in the big coop. The male silkie picks on ALL the birds in the baby/bantam coop.
My question is: Will just one hen be enough if the other is a Roo? I don’t have any other Roos. (I’ve tried to rehome them, for free, without success)

It all depends upon the temperament of the rooster. I have bred pairs and trios with little to no damage to the hens.
