Silkie panting?

Hi all!

I have three babies who are turning three months old on the 27th--a Polish, one I'm not so certain of, and a silkie. They are Kramer, Ellie, and Buckwheat respectively. Ellie and Kramer are wonderfully social; they fly out of the box we're keeping them in at night and snuggle up on my shoulders. Buckwheat, however, is a bit different. He doesn't mind being picked up to be put in the box and is as laid back as silkies come, but when we bring him into bed for a while so that he's not in the box by himself, he starts panting the moment he's touched. I've felt under his wings and felt his feet, and he's not too hot. There's no sneezing, wheezing, snotting, or any other signs of respiratory complications and he runs around all day chasing bugs. I've had my babies since they were two days old, so handling isn't uncommon. I'm supposing that he's just nervous, but even that doesn't seem the case since he's laying on my chest as I type this and doesn't fuss when I give him pets. I'm just not sure what to think. Anyone have any ideas?

Its likely just nervous. I have a bird that does this when handled. Mine is a silkie
.I wouldn't worry too much about it. Mines done it since she was a chick. She's 6 months old now
.its likely just out of nerves. Best wishes.
