Silkie photo update.

Here are some updated six week photos.... any guesses on gender...?

6 weeks is much,much too young for silkies. Silkies are one of the most difficult to sex early. Generally 4-5 mos. is a good time but, some can't be sexed till they crow or lay eggs.

He doesn't appear to have the black beak,skin, legs of the breed. Is this a hatchery silkie?

Your silky looks to be a partridge from the photo and lf the feathers are actually coming in orangish it is most probably a cockeral

The beak and legs are blue/black. It's my only silkie, so I'm not familiar with how dark they should be.

I got her/him at Rural King. Supposedly, they get their chicks from two different hatcheries, but I forget which two they said.

The brown one in front was in the brooder labeled silkies also, but clearly isn't!

Orangish feathers mean male? What color do the female partridges have?

More brownish around the neck area. I may have a picture of one of mine.
