I am going to get 2 Delawares hens, 1 Easter Egger hen, 1 D'Uclle hen, 1 Silkie Hen, and 1 Silkie rooster. Will the rooster be able to fertilize most of the hens, and will the eggs be able to hatch?! If not most of them will he be able to fertilize any of them?! Thanks for any info on this topic!

I can't see why he couldn't "get the job done". It's worth a try! I have a friend who runs her Bantam Polish with her EE - and she always is raising chicks (they're pretty cute, too!

I have 2 silkie roos in with 6 standard hens. Nothing is happening. My girls are too big for the boys ... they can just shake the boys off like rain.

I posted a similar question earlier this week ... https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=311068

I'm
now hoping to get my hands on at least 2 silkie hens to help out the boys out! Haha!

ETA ~ I was told last year that it would not be a problem with banty roos .... but I guess size really does matter!

IF the roos like the hens, and IF the hens are receptive to the roos, SIZE doesn't matter--but the roos may not be successful in their attempts BECAUSE of the size difference.

A problem I've had with my banty boys and full size girls, is that the boys are treading rite in the middle of their backs so bad that now some of my poor girls are totally naked on their backs from the little boys and their heads are bare from over active boys holding on. Other than that it shouldn't be a problem,it mite be better to stay with just bantams. If you end up in the future with a full size Roo he can squish your bantam girls and hurt them or worse.
