Silkie Question

Is this a blue or black silkie? How do you tell? Thanks!

I think maybe blue? I could be wrong but I think black ones are a little darker in color?

Way too young to sex based on photos but I feel this one will stay a blue! Usually with a black chick you will see more black or very dark grey feathers on the back at hatch

I'm so sorry, I meant "an adorable blue"! It is impossible to tell gender at this point. But I think it is "she" until proven otherwise!

Where we live we can’t have roosters so I sure hope “she” stays a she! Here’s a better picture of her. Just too cute!!

"She" looks blue. Blue can vary quite a bit, from almost as light as lavender (which is not blue) to almost as dark as black. You will be able to tell better when the wing feathers come in. Little sweetie!
