Silkie Roo hatching eggs question

Just wondering because I thought all Silkies had a huge tuft on their head and had walnut combs.
I think that's the hens. This is my bantam silkie hen, Barb. She has a beautiful walnut comb. Unfortunately, I don't have a good picture of it. If she wasn't fast asleep under her matching roo's chin, I would take one for you! haha.

Hum, I guess my birds aren't show quality! I got the hen from mypetchicken.com and the rooster came from a local feed store. As for the barnyard mixes, they will never have those qualities but the uniqueness of the newbies is exciting! I'm not interested in showing my birds anyway. They're my pets and I wouldn't want to put them somewhere they could contract an illness. Thanks for posting the thread!

Easter egger hen x white silkie rooster. Such a beautiful little bird and so sweet too! The other chick of the same parents is completely white!

Beautiful chix! You should take some more photos of the bitties with their mamas and submit them to the BYC calendar contest that just started!

Awwww yes that's such a sweet idea! They weren't brooded by their Mama's so they aren't ready to be introduced yet as they're too small. But I might bring the Mama's out with the babies for a quick photo shoot in a few weeks. The Mama's are quite docile so I think they'll all probably sit in my lap and nearby together without too much trouble. Thanks for the neat idea!!
