So,I have a silkie who has no comb or wattles, I know he is a roo as he has been cowing for a few weeks and getting hackle feathers. his comb I don't think is standard. looks almost single (possible throw back)
has anyone dealt with this? Will my boy forever look like a girl? such a loving roo he is.

Looks like it might be a really tiny single comb, the standard comb for silkies is a walnut comb, as for his wattles they are most likely very tiny and hidden by his beard. Since he looks mostly grown his comb and wattles will probably stay like that.

On the other hand, that is a really cute silkie roo. Wish my boys were that fluffy.

oh he's a delight. it was a shock when I saw him crow I'd have put money on it being a hen. last week or so he's getting mote streamers. he comes for cuddles, the only one who will placate my kids wanting to love on them.
think he went through a molt (or there's feather plucking as he lost his beard about two weeks bac, keep seeing new growth which again dissapears.
always the faves that are roos

Yeah most of my favorite birds have been roos. I've downsized to two roos at this point a wheaten silkie and a blue birchen satin we named Pumpkin, he enjoys getting hand fed since he is always on the bottom of the totem poll and he hates fighting so we don't have issues with him around other boys other than occasional bullying. Hoping after our coop gets upgraded a bit to add in a breeder roo to improve the quality of the flock.

The feather plucking of the beard could be from hens eating the feathers by the way, we've had roos in the past that the hens would love to eat the beard feathers of, so they would never have beards most of the time.
