My silkie roo has some balance issues and I notice his butt is starting to look nasty. This was not there 2 days ago or at least big enough for me to notice. What can I do? I’m going to soak him to see if that helps and also cleans the area so I can see what’s going on.

Are there other roosters or hen who are pecking his vent area? Is the green poop or bruised skin? Is he injured? I would soak his bottom in a shallow warm bath for about 15 minutes. A new picture would help. Apply plain Neosporin or spray Vetericyn after soaking and drying him. Then look for any maggots moving around and remove any you see. Separate him in a wire dog crate with food/water, but keep him near the others if possible.

No injuries that I’m aware of and I haven’t seen any signs of pecking. And no one usually picks on him. And okay I will try to soak and get better photos

Was that blood on his vent in the first pictures?

Do you have a picture of his vent now that it's clean? What does he eat and is he eating as much as usual? Green poop can be from emaciation or many things. Silkies are prone to vitamin deficiencies is why I'm asking what he's eating. He might need a vitamin boost.

@Eggcessive knows more about what it could be, but until she comes back, I'd get some probiotics in him. That could help clear up his digestive tract. There are powders for water or Greek yogurt is good too.

Hes been drinking water with the vitamin powder in it…as I have another silkie and was trying to prevent vitamin deficiency. His butt is super clean. Looks normal no injuries and I’m not sure if it was blood because I soaked him to clean him and didn’t see anymore red. He is actually in a crate eating a lot right now. Crop may be a bit full can’t tell. Hasn’t drank any water since being in crate. He eats all flock feed and we give scraps usually fruits and veggies. He has also had this bag of chicken treats it’s papaya and meal worms etc. and he free ranges and gets grass and other plants.

Don’t know if this matters but tmi his butt was pulsing after his wash.

They do that so that's not unusual. Good on the vitamin water, but then just wondering what else is wrong then if he's unstable. Like I mentioned, probiotics might help his digestive tract, but it seems there's something else going on if he's having balance issues. You can't see anything else wrong with him at all, like no mites, lice, a wound?
