I have a couple LF brahma hens in with my silkies and decided to include some brahma eggs in the incubator with my silkie eggs just out of curiosity..

To my surprise, it looks like one of the eggs might be fertilized..

Can a bantam rooster successfully fertilize a LF breed? If this egg is in fact fertilized is it likely to hatch?

These cross breeds are stressful/exciting!

it is possible

im very curious myself to see this mix
I really hope it takes.. I may swipe a few more brahma eggs from the coop to increase my chances.. I've seen the silkie rooster attempt to do the deed but I wasn't sure if the different sizes would be 100% compatible.. keep your fingers crossed for me!

omg I'm so curious I see this is a old thread, but did the egg hatch? and how did the chick end up looking like, was he like the silkie or the brahma or both?
was this a cute cross? :)

I hatched one that is a light Brahma /paint silkie mix. Silkie is a paint roo, Brahma is hen . Baby right now is much bigger then a reg silkie, but really cute
