I lost one last month for no apparent cause. She was a one of a kind. I got eggs to hatch and she hatched white as snow, then feathered in buff and white. She was so very lovely. Like yours, I still do not know how or why she died. I looked her over real good, but there was not a wound or any sign of a problem. I wondered if perhaps she hit her head as she have a big vault at birth and I know that can put them at risk for brain injuries. I am very sorry for your loss. It is heartbreaking to loose them.I am so sorry. We lost a Silkie today and are not sure why. These little creatures are so sweet, it's hard not to feel responsible, but I am sure you did all you could.
