Silkie rooster sitting on eggs

Hello,

I have what i beleive to be a 7 month old silkie rooster, some of my hens have laid eggs in the box, and he has been sitting on them for almost 3 days now. Do roosters do this? Also do the eggs go bad if he sits on them for that amount of time or are they still edible

back in the day they used to use capons for hatching eggs (neutered roosters)

as far as the eggs being edible .... i don't know ...
