This evening I had a perfectly health slike rooster die, no signs of anything wrong. The rest of the flock is fine . And he was only 9 months old
What happened? I would love to hear thoughts

There are many illnesses that chickens can get. we need a little more info to rule out and determine what happened. How big is the coop? How many other birds do you have? What do they eat? Do you free range? Where do you live? Have you noticed any abnormal poop? Did you notice any increased or decreased eating, drinking, sleeping, etc.?

Do you still have the body? If so, you can preform an at home necropsy or send him to get one.

Can you move your thread to the Emergency section? That way more people can help you determine what is wrong. Also, welcome to BYC!

Here is some more information . They have a huge coop ( around 20x30). We have 5 other adults and 6 other younger chicks they eat bugs, feed, grit, oyster shell, and occasional corn.no decreased eating or abnormal poop. Another bit of Information is , he was the lead rooster and towards his last 2 monte he was not beating the hens up or trying to mate . And the flock was following one of the other roosters during free range
