This evening I had a perfectly health slike rooster die, no signs of anything wrong. The rest of the flock is fine . And he was only 9 months old
What happened? I would love to hear thoughts
Here is some more information . They have a huge coop ( around 20x30). We have 5 other adults and 6 other younger chicks they eat bugs, feed, grit, oyster shell, and occasional corn.no decreased eating or abnormal poop. Another bit of Information is , he was the lead rooster and towards his last 2 monte he was not beating the hens up or trying to mate . And the flock was following one of the other roosters during free range

One time this happened to one of my bielefelder poulets, and I put a post about it and everyone said that she had a heart attack. That might have happened to your silkie.

I'm so sorry. Sounds like he was not feeling well in his last two months. Any chance you can do an at home necropsy or send his remains off to have a necropsy performed?
