silkie roosters or hens? Help please

Even if the grey one isn't crowing ..is that common? and you are positive both are roosters
Thank you

Both of them are cockerels. Most cockerels start crowing around 4-5 months but sometimes it is considerably later than that before they crow--in rare cases, almost a year; and Silkies are frequently among the later crowers.

I say cockerel and hen. Because they are close to the same age you have some distinguishing characteristics...the second had little to no waddles

I assume you're talking about the white ones in the first set of pics; If so I agree with cockerel and pullet. Or are you talking about the black and gray one in the second set of pics. If so, the second one (Nugget) has a huge set of wattles and is a cockerel.

They can be both. I have heard they are supposed to be a bit more docile..but I had a white roo that was both aggressive and loud. However, the benefit is that they are little...and can't fly, so you won't have him coming at your eyes if he does get aggressive. :)

Are silkie roosters aggressive or loud? I cant decide whether to get one or not :(

I've never personally had an aggressive Silkie rooster. In fact, they have been the most gentle roosters of the many breeds I've had. My Silkie rooster have been relatively quiet as roosters go, however all roosters are loud. If you have complaining neighbors, I would suggest not getting a rooster as your neighbors are going to hear any breed of rooster crowing.
