Silkie Roosters?

Do silkie roosters crow(yes i know they crow) at 5 am like every other chicken? i heard that they are basically hens but they just dont lay eggs. is that true?

sorry, I hear this alot. silkie roosters are just like any other rooster. they just have different feathers

mine crow just as much as the other boys

yes, some are louder than others. one of ours won the crowing contest at the county fair. they generally have good temperaments but every now and then you have a mean one ( they go bye bye)

My silkie roo is louder than all my other chickens. And he crows anytime he wants something, not just in the AM.

My silkie roo is pretty darn loud...can't have a roo where I live but I do and he sleeps in the house and goes out when I'm home he likes to crow eh about 10 times in a row but he is also very considerate he doesn't crow before 9 am...such a nice boy and our coop has a sky light.

We have a white silkie roo, a white silkie hen,and a black silkie hen. Bought them from Renegade Ridge Farms.Bok Bok crows and the hens lay eggs. See pic below:

Oh... my boy crows at 4:20am.. I put him in a very large Black tupperware bin at night in my basement. I cover it (but, of course allow plenty of air in).. and we still hear him way before the sun comes up. He has a nice crow though, and does it about 12-15 times. Sometimes he waits til' 6:00am (when he is allowed with his ladies). My neighbors are pretty close, so he has to be in at night. He is loud.
