Are they the same bird? The one in the second photo makes it look like a girl. But you are getting too anxious to know their gender, have patience until they are at least 10 weeks old lol

Just spoke with who we got the chicks from and they said they believe its a pilkie a silkie peakin Cross

OK so quick update, not sure if still too early well I'm certain black silkie is a cockrel so I've just attached the one close up of him. Anyone got any ideas on pekin (blue silkie pekin cross)

Sorry, but he looks like a cockerel to me, he's starting to get hackle feathers and the comb is too red for a pullet.

Update on these two now almost 8 weeks I think we are all going to agree both boys!? The pilkie is a very big boy (and a bit of a bully) what age should we try and rehome him? Mommy hen is still very obsessed with them and still trying to get them underneath her despite the fact his the same size as her haha. But she panics if any of the babys are not next to her!

Hey almost 10 weeks now and although the bluey pilkie (kenneth) is definitely a boy im beginning to have doubts on black silkie as small non aggressive at all like kenneth and although I'm no expert at all cant see anything that shouts boy boy boy. What do you guys think!?
