silkie sexing

Based on your updated pics, I think roo also. The ball on the head seems sparse and spiky rather than full and cotton ball like. Are those encased new feathers spiking up or streamers? My girls had a few of those when their poof head was filling in but you could tell they were encased new feathers.

Below are my two silkie hens. They were 21 weeks old in these pics. The top one is snowflake and she has a big red comb and waddles. The second 3 pics are Tweety who has a big black comb. Tweety likes to act tough and frighten you with light pecks. They are both hens.

However, I would not throw your bird under a bus yet. Silkies are hard to sex and this one could surprise you. I think you have to be patient on this.

15 week black silkie. I have no idea if this comb is big for it's age or not?

I'm too new to this to even be able to identify "streamers".

Head on picture :)

Scrolling through, it looks like you never got an answer. To me that looks like a rooster because of the comb size and the upright stance. Sometimes it can be very hard to tell though, so you'll probably have to wait for your first egg or crow.

Edit: I took another look and I'm actually more sure that it's a rooster. He has sickles in his tail and streamers on his crest and neck. His color is spectacular though and silkie Roos still make lovely pets is you don't mind the occasional crowing.
