Hello my silkies are around 9 weeks old and I'm hoping to find out their gender since we can't have roosters in our town.

Never know. Mine kept me guessing until they started crowing. Really are the hardest breed to sex. :)

I'll keep my fingers crossed that I have some girls. I did hear a crow this morning but I'm not sure if came from one of these or one of our other 3 unknown breed chicks.

I see a few that do look like roosters but some hens get big combs too. The best way to know of one is crowing is to sit with them for a few mins when you first let them out. Usually that when they crow the most. That will help you pinpoint your roo. That's how I knee at 12 weeks. All 3 of mine turned out to be roos lol
