I am not expert but it looks like the black one is a girl and the other two boys. Can anyone help me with my silkies' sexes? I'm kind of freaking out over here. I thought Willow was a roo and Gracey a hen and now they've thoroughly confused me. I'm kind of terrified that I ended up with three roosters- which is awful because these were my dream chickens- I wanted silkies ever since I saw them on Pet Star!
They're 10-11 weeks old and were really nervous in these pics- they are really attached to each other. (Click the pics for bigger sizes.)
Willow
Albedo (for sure rooster, been crowing for a week or two now- the only one crowing)
Gracey

Are you going to sell them?Really? To be honest, I am glad I am not the only one with awful luck. but it sucks so bad...
I've wanted silkies since I was a kid but never imagined I'd get em, and now look what happens... I might as well not keep any of them at this point...Honestly, now I can't stop crying...![]()
I want you to be wrong so bad but you voiced what my supicions were and the only people who said any of them were girls were people who don't/never had silkies... and myself when I was actually feeling hopeful.
I feel so sad.![]()
Probably not... We'll probably take them back to the farm we got them from. Are you going to sell them?
I'm curious for this too. Albedo started crowing on July 10th. He just turned 8 weeks old when he started. I also know of someone else who had a roo start crowing that early as well. If any of my other silkies are roos... well, they haven't crowed yet. They're 10 weeks.Just curious..I know it varies..but average..how young/old when silkies start to crow?
